Constant requests for playdates and sleepovers

by Mom

How much is too much? Sometimes I just get tired of the constant running her around or friends over. I don't have anything against the friends or their parents. How much is too much? Am I holding her back if I say no? It's summer and at 12 its hard to keep them busy all the time. And I can't blame her for wanting to be with her friends. It gets old.

Too much socializing
by: Sara

Dear Mom!

I totally get it! How much is too much? That is completely your call. Your responsibility is to the proper upbringing of your daughter. You need to spend time together to do that.

You also need to take care of yourself. It's fine to say "no". "I am staying home, and so are you."

Balance is key, and it sounds like you have a good sense for giving your child socializing opportunities and down time at home. You just need to give yourself permission to implement. You got this!
