Mantras

stress

Mantras are an effective way to calm a chaotic mind. Sometimes as we deal with the pressures and stresses of carrying the burdens of raising children, keeping food on the table, managing work, and our households we find that life has become just too much. Fear, anxiety, and worry can slip in and set up camp in our minds.

In order to be effective in executing our responsibilities, we must be in top form. "Mantra" is a sanskrit word. The first part "manas" means "mind"; and the second part "tra" means to "protect" or "free from". Put it together and you get "to free the mind".

Mantras free the mind by combining intent, with energy through the process of repetition.

Through prayer and a deeper connection with God I was able to decrease my overall stress and worry, but I still dealt with break through anxiety. Anxiety can make you feel like you are having a heart attack. The mind races, your thoughts are not your own, you can't catch your breath, and you don't know how to make it stop.

Mantras are the andedote.

By finding some key, meaningful, short statements that I can repeat to "free my mind", I am able to hault the anxiety and return to a calm state. When I am calm, I can breathe, think, problem solve, and most importantly, I can enjoy my life.

Below you will find some statements I use on a frequent basis. Feel free to adopt any that resonate with you.
