Fun Activities To Do With Your Kids This Winter

Winter is a season with lots of opportunities for outdoor fun! Every winter, I loved taking my kids out into the snowy weather for some parent-child bonding time. No matter your children's ages, you can find a winter activity that will prove an adventure for you and them both. To get you started on your own adventures, here’s a list of some fun activities to do with your kids this winter.

Build a Snowman

This activity is a classic but is always a fun time. Snowmen can be made with different shapes, sizes, and decorations. Giving your kids some old clothes or props to dress their snowmen lets them show their individuality and creativity. And your yard will look much more festive once you are done!

Freeze Bubbles

If the weather is particularly cold, try blowing bubbles with your kids and watching them freeze. For adults and children alike, it’s so interesting to watch a bubble freeze in midair. If your kids are younger, this is a great way to fit in a science lesson as well.

Take a Camping Trip

If your kids are older, taking them on a winter camping trip is a great way to spend time with them outdoors. Winter camping offers entirely different experiences and challenges than camping in other seasons. Just make sure that you pack the right supplies for your kids to take on the trip.

Go Sledding

Sledding is a winter activity that both moms and their kids can enjoy. If your kids are young, this might involve you pulling or carrying them up a hill, but the exhilarating feeling that you and your kids will get from flying down a hill together will make the effort worth it.

Go on a Nature Walk

Taking your kids on a nature walk is a great way for moms and kids to get some exercise and practice their observation skills together. Encourage your younger kids to collect little nature items they find and search for animal tracks in the snow.

Try a Winter Sport

Have fun getting some exercise with your kids this winter by picking up a winter sport. There are so many good options to choose from, including ice skating, skiing, snowshoeing, and more. Winter sports are great for kids of all ages, so they are great activities to try if you have a range of ages in your family.

If your kids are constantly complaining about how bored they are, perhaps it’s time to try one of these fun activities to do with your kids this winter. You and your kids will get some exercise and time out of the house, and you will build your relationships with one another while having a great time.
